Dark Venues

Yes, a photographer can totally light up a room with flash to photograph all of the action of a party. But, that will not capture the ambiance of the party and the effort that the host has taken in choosing a venue and decorating the room, including lighting choices they have made. Also, quite often, much of the dancing action is in total darkness, with glow sticks and DJ lighting as the only light source. While I do use flash in dark rooms to capture most of each event, I am careful to use the flash in a way to photograph everyone and everything while still preserving the actual look-and-feel of the room. Here are a few examples taken in extreme lighting with zero flash used.

These were provided to the party hosts in addition to all of the flash photography shots. My goal is to provide a total remembrance of all aspects of every party/event for which I am hired.
