Such a cutie!

As I've posted previously, I always enjoy being the photographer for 1st Birthday celebrations. These parties are always loving and joyful events to photograph: adorable children, the adults engaged in lively conversation, the women always beautifully dressed in their elegant and brightly colored formal-wear, great food, dancing (sometimes), party games (sometimes), quite often elaborately decorated cake tables, and always the loving birthday cake ceremony. As I do for all parties for which I am the photographer, all of the above is captured from every possible angle and perspective (zoom in on details, macro-views of entire scene). For these parties, the candle-lighting/cake ceremony is captured extensively, and posed photos of each guest family and/or friend grouping (often with the birthday boy/girl and parents) is captured in both close-up and showing the full-background of the decorations. This particular party had most of these elements. In particular, amazing decorations: a small entrance table at the door,a larger table upon entering the banquet room, then the VERY large and elaborate cake table up on a stage, all captured by me (as the photographer) in detail from all angles. During the party, I came up with the idea to do a mini-portrait shoot of the birthday girl using the cake-table as the stage. The birthday girls mother was more than willing to cooperate, kneeling behind the table with her hands holding the birthday girl under her dress (and out of site of the camera) to provide the illusion of the birthday girl sitting and standing alone (while remaining safe).
